Packing For Mountain Weather
Packing For a Weekend of Mountain Weather
With less than a week to go, we’re sharing the packing essentials that will elevate your Banff Yoga Festival experience to new heights.
STAY WARM - It’s May in the mountains. Which means we might have snow, or we might have gorgeous summer-like weather. May we suggest layers? Be prepared for anything from brisk flurries (think toque, warm socks and fleece) to warm spring-like sunny days. Don’t forget a versatile infinity scarf that can be used to keep you warm in the cold, or as a savasana blanket.
TREAT YO SELF (right) - In order to experience a flawless weekend, make sure you’re taking care of your body! It can be dry in the mountains, so remember a nourishing moisturizer and soothing lip balm. Pack your sunscreen just in case you plan to be outside when the sun peeks out. After all that yoga your body might need some TLC. In a love affair with your foam roller or yoga tune up balls? Bring ‘em along for the ride. You’re body will be grateful you did.
GEAR UP - BYOM. We’re talking Bring Your Own Mat. As yogis we know you have a weakness for your own mat. Bring it along to soak up all the festival vibes. Blocks, straps, meditation cushions — whatever you can’t live without — don’t! For those sweaty Mysore mornings a yoga towel is recommended.
CAPTURE THE EXPERIENCE - With all the knowledge floating around, bring your favourite notebook and pen to capture what resonates with you. Fill it with your favourite quotes, ‘aha' moments, doodles and contact info for your new yogi friends & teachers—create your own personalized memory of the weekend. Capture the weekend through videos and photos and share on social media - tag us too! @banffyogafestival (Instagram and Facebook)
ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT - The mountains have a way of reminding us of what’s important. Create the best possible experience for yourself by leaving the stresses of work and life at home. Patience. Receptivity. Kindness. Compassion. Get ready to soak it all in.

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
